Serve! : a youth service organization from Toronto, Canada

I work as a general technical consultant for the organization. Implemented Illustrator design comps using CSS, XHTML, JavaScript, and Flash with ActionScript, using the Expression Engine CMS and PHP, and was actively involved in the actual design of the site. Extended Expression Engine as needed to allow end-users to have full control over all aspect of the content of the website, and implemented RSS feeds for news and blogs. Worked with Communications Director to create the information architecture and design of the site from start to finish, and created the Project timeline and milestones. Assisted with the transfer and selection of a web host, the implementation of a web-based email system, setting up of ActiveCollab Project Management system, and serve as a consultant for all-things technical for the organization.

    

Yummy Mummy : a maternity clothing line based in Toronto, Canada.

I implemented Flash and ActionScript designs for two incarnations of the site, and was heavily involved in the design. Lead the information architecture process. Created PHP and MySQL wholesale order system.

    

It's Academic : a school and office supply company based in Chicago.

I implemented Illustrator design comps using XHTML, JavaScript, and CSS, creating a standards-based website. Assisted in information architecture.

    

AOL Music Now (link goes to music service, not my work) : business systems application development (and more) for digital music service.

I lead the design, development, and implementation of Music Content System, a back-end web application used by music programming, licensing, and content to manage music metadata, pricing, licensors, take-down requests from labels, and allowed employees to run Perl scripts from a GUI. Written with JSP using JSTL under Tomcat, a back-end Oracle 10g database, XHTML and CSS. Implemented a PL/SQL based Pricing System which dynamically determines the prices and costs of albums and tracks, based on business rules set by each licensor. Worked on front-end CSS and JavaScript implementation of designs for (a previous incarnation of) the music service. Developed Cello, a front-end system for Customer Service which allowed for license reissues, credits & refunds, cancellations & upgrades, and an overall view of all customer data. Written using Dynamo JHTML. Designed and developed an XML-based Java Stored Procedure for billing system to send all transactions to Clear Commerce billing gateway. Helped verify the integrity of fraud rules, and worked extensively troubleshooting billing problems.

    

Tribune Company's Intranet (link goes to corporate site, not my work) : internal web applications for corporate intranet.

Using JSP and Java Servlets (under JRun Application Server), and Oracle SQL & PL/SQL, developed numerous employee self-service applications. Gathered requirements from "clients" (other departments in the company), wrote documentation, and generally worked solo on all stages of development. Applications included a Succession Planning system, Employee Directory Phone Directory, Legal Log, dynamic PDF generation, Employee Review application, and various applications for desktop support and telecommunications.

    

Joe Self Help Fund : a fundraising website to cover the medical expenses for a man from Austin, TX.

I translated Illustrator design comps into XHTML and CSS, using WordPress as the CMS. Set up a blog for family members to update, a guestbook system for friends and family to send well-wishes, and set up a paypal donation system. Helped the family with other technical questions as they came up for their fundraising efforts.

    

Flash Games : created for a personal website.

I used Flash and ActionScript, along with basic concepts of animation and physics to create these simple Flash games.

    

The Dating Scene : now defunct radio show from Washington, D.C.

Helped design and implemented the design of two different incarnations of a website for a D.C. talk show about dating. Archived the shows online, set up "Stacey's Dating Diary," and organized and developed the site structure and architecture.
